ARTICLE - 1

Name, Character & Objectives

1.1     The Federation of Engineering Institutions of South & Central Asia (FEISCA) (hereinafter called the "Federation") is an international organisation established with the following objectives:-
1.1.1  to foster co-operation and exchange of information among its National Members, by establishment of a Data Bank or otherwise on select aspects of interest such as engineering expertise, engineering facilities and educations systems;
1.1.2 to encourage effective engineering manpower development and utilisation in the region and to facilitate travel of engineers and engineering students between different countries in the region for the purpose;
1.1.3   to encourage the formation and to foster the goal-oriented activities of national Associations of Engineers in the region;
1.1.4   to study problems concerning the education, training and continuing education of engineers in the region and to recommend solutions;
1.1.5 to motivate engineers to work towards the social
and economic development of the countries in the region:
1.1.6 to promote, in co-operation with national
Governments, regional and international agencies, regional co-operation in utilizing science and technology for development in areas such as :

  • working for ecological and environmental health;
  • improving indigenous engineering capability of the region;
  • studying utilization of energy resources of optimum benefits in the region;
  • working for balanced industrial growth and mutually advantageous transfer of know-how and technology and similar activities;

1.1.7   to advise UN Bodies such as UNESCO, UNIDO, UNDP, etc.;
1.1.8    to advise regional bodies such as SAARC on the
            priority activities applicable to the region;
1.1.9     to represent the region in WFEO and other world bodies for fruitful  Collaborative activities;
1.1.10   to do any other activities to fulfill these objectives.
