It gives me immense pleasure to break the news to all worthy member countries of FEISCA and the engineering community at large that the FEISCA Secretariat has launched its website at “www.feisca.org”. I am confident that it would provide the platform for acquiring useful information about the technical activities of the member countries as well as their future programmes.
World has already been reduced to a global village and electronic media has practically proved this point. One can learn about activities of all Member Countries from this electronic media i.e FEISCA website. The website will always be there to give information regarding the technical activities and will be always found updated for this purpose. The member countries of FEISCA are also invited to update the website on a regular basis. They must send reports of technical activities to the new FEISCA Secretariat through the newly established Website regularly so that the member countries may get due benefit of the website to share the technical knowledge among all member countries and the engineering community in general.

It gives me great pleasure to issue this message on the occasion of the launch of a website for FEISCA. The Federation of Engineering Institutions of South and Central Asia had its first General Assembly in Dhaka, Bangla Desh on 21 – 22 March 1981. This organisation has had 11 General Assemblies so far, and the 12th General Assembly is due to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka on 18th October 2008.
It is noteworthy to find that the engineering organisations in the region decided to co- operate with the formation of FEISCA, whilst the countries in the region formed SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation) in December 1985, which organisation held its 15th Heads of State’s meeting in Colombo on 26th July 2008.
With the launch of the web-site for FEISCA I hope that the engineers in the region will be in a better position to get at information relating to the activities of the member institutions. I wish that the web-site of FEISCA will become one of the most active ones in the region.

I am thrilled to know that the long awaited FEISCA Website is being launched this month by IEP. In addition to providing valuable information to existing five FEISCA bodies, such a website can do the same various professional bodies within and outside FEISCA counties. I am hopeful of FEISCA expanding and fattening its activities and bringing more countries to its fold.
I am grateful to IEP for having started the Website and I wish the same to become a Tech Magazine Soon.
